How to charge a Togg at home: charger, charging time and cost

Written by Engin Demirel · Electrical technician, master instructor · 12 years of experience

Short answer: The Togg T10X and T10F use a Type 2 inlet for AC charging and charge at 11 kW as standard; some long-range T10X versions offer a 22 kW AC option. The most practical home solution is an 11 kW Type 2 home EV charger (wallbox): the 52.4 kWh standard-range battery charges from empty in about 5–6 hours, the 88.5 kWh long-range battery in about 8–9 hours. No Togg-specific charger is needed; any wallbox, portable charger and cable that follows the Type 2 standard works with a Togg.

Togg charging inlet and AC charging power

Togg uses the European standard: Type 2 for AC and CCS2 for DC fast charging. At home and at public AC stations you use Type 2; at DC stations the cable is fixed to the charger.

The AC power the car accepts determines the power of the charger worth installing. The T10X and T10F charge at 11 kW (three-phase, 16 A) as standard. Some long-range T10X versions have a 22 kW AC option; check your car's specifications or owner's manual. If the car accepts 11 kW, a 22 kW charger does not make charging faster.

How long does a Togg take to charge at home?

Togg offers two batteries: 52.4 kWh (standard range) and 88.5 kWh (long range). Approximate times from empty to full, including charging losses:

  • 11 kW home charger (three-phase): standard range about 5–6 hours, long range about 8–9 hours.
  • 22 kW (only with the 22 kW AC option): long range about 4.5–5 hours.
  • 7.4 kW (single-phase 32 A): standard range about 7–8 hours, long range about 12–13 hours.
  • 3.7 kW household socket (portable charger): standard range about 14–16 hours, long range over 24 hours.

In daily life you rarely charge from empty. Driving 40–60 km a day uses about 7–10 kWh, which an 11 kW charger replaces in about an hour and a household socket overnight. See our EV charging time guide for other power levels.

What does it cost to charge a Togg at home?

Cost = consumption × price per kWh. According to the manufacturer's WLTP figures a Togg uses about 16.7–16.9 kWh/100 km; real consumption depends on speed, season and climate control. With home electricity in Turkey at about TRY 3.24/kWh (as of September 30, 2026):

  • 100 km: about 17 × TRY 3.24 (plus roughly 10% charging loss).
  • Full standard-range battery: about 52 × TRY 3.24 plus losses.
  • Full long-range battery: about 88 × TRY 3.24 plus losses.

Public AC charging costs about TRY 10.50/kWh and DC about TRY 15.00/kWh, so home charging is usually several times cheaper. Use our charging cost calculator with your own mileage.

Which charging option suits you?

  • Home EV charger (wallbox): the right choice if you charge at home every day. It is wall-mounted on a dedicated circuit with its own breaker and RCD. It delivers 11 kW on a three-phase supply and up to 7.4 kW on single-phase. Example: the power of the Bemis Charger Plus 2 can be set in the app, so you can start at 11 kW and raise it if you later switch to a car with 22 kW AC.
  • Portable charger: suits you if you cannot install a wallbox (rented home, shared car park) or charge in different places. It charges at 3.7 kW from a household socket, 7.4 kW from a 32 A industrial socket and up to 11–22 kW from a three-phase socket. Portable EV chargers
  • Type 2 charging cable: needed at public AC stations without a tethered cable and at socketed wallboxes. An 11 kW cable fully covers the Togg's standard power; choose a 22 kW Type 2 cable if you have the 22 kW option or may change cars.

Whether your supply is single-phase or three-phase directly affects the choice; see single-phase vs three-phase.

Togg V2L adapter: taking power from the car

With V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) a Togg can supply 230 V through its charging inlet, using an adapter plugged into the car. The Truwatt Togg V2L adapter turns the inlet into a 3-way socket (16 A / 3.6 kW, 3, 5 or 7 m cable) for camping, garden work or short power cuts.

Important: the T10F and T10X adapters do not work in each other's cars. Select your car model when ordering. A V2L adapter does not charge the car; it only takes power from it. More in What is V2L?

Togg DC fast charging on long trips

On long trips you use DC fast chargers: Togg's own Trugo network as well as other operators' CCS2 stations. The manufacturer states up to 180 kW DC for the T10X and about 28 minutes from 20% to 80%. DC charging is convenient but costs more per kWh; for daily use, AC charging at home is cheaper and gentler on the battery.

Charger installation for Togg owners in Bursa

ENGN installs home EV chargers in Bursa, Turkey only. The process:

  1. Site survey: a paid survey (TRY 2,500 + VAT) checks the wiring, consumer unit and cable route.
  2. Written quote: a detailed quote follows; if you accept it, the survey fee is deducted.
  3. Project: there is no installation without a project; the project fee of TRY 15,000 + VAT is added to the installation.
  4. Installation: a 40 A type A RCD, a 40 A circuit breaker and a surge protector are standard; an over/under-voltage protector is optional.

Installation price depends on cable length: up to 10 m about TRY 15,000, up to 25 m TRY 25,000, up to 50 m TRY 40,000 (excl. VAT and charger). Local rules apply. Full breakdown in home EV charger installation cost.

Frequently asked questions

Which home charger works with a Togg?

Togg uses a Type 2 inlet for AC charging, so every home EV charger with a Type 2 connection is compatible. No Togg-specific charger is needed, and an 11 kW unit is enough for most Toggs.

How long does a Togg take to charge at home?

With an 11 kW home charger, empty to full takes about 5–6 hours for the standard range (52.4 kWh) and about 8–9 hours for the long range (88.5 kWh). From a 3.7 kW household socket the standard range takes 14–16 hours.

How much does it cost to charge a Togg at home?

Consumption × price per kWh. A Togg uses about 17 kWh/100 km, so 100 km costs about 17 × TRY 3.24 plus around 10% charging loss. Our charging cost calculator works it out for your mileage.

Does a Togg need a 22 kW charger?

Togg charges at 11 kW AC as standard, so a 22 kW unit does not speed it up. Only T10X versions with the 22 kW AC option benefit. A charger with adjustable power lets you start at 11 kW and raise it later.

Can a Togg be charged from a household socket?

Yes, with a portable charger at up to 3.7 kW. It is slow; for daily charging a home charger on a dedicated circuit is safer and faster.

Does the T10F V2L adapter work on a T10X?

No. The Truwatt Togg V2L adapter has separate versions for the T10F and T10X and they do not work in each other's cars. Choose your model when ordering.
