Façade lighting with wall washers
A wall washer is a linear LED luminaire that washes building façades, walls and columns with light from below or the side. Spreading light evenly over large surfaces, it makes the texture and lines of the building visible at night; it is used on hotels, commercial buildings, villas and public buildings.
- Mounting: in-ground (invisible by day) or on the wall/ground with a bracket.
- Optics: narrow beams carry the light up high façades, wide beams light low walls evenly.
- Distance: 30–100 cm from the wall; closer emphasises texture, further away evens out the light.

A floodlight sends light over a wide area from a single point; a wall washer spreads light along the façade in an even band thanks to its linear body. On long façades a wall washer gives a more uniform result.
