Garden & Landscape Lighting
How to plan garden lighting
Garden lighting is planned for both safety and atmosphere: footpaths are lit with low bollards and profile posts, larger areas with post-top luminaires, and entrances and walls with outdoor wall lights. Wall washers and small floodlights add accents to trees and landscape features.
- Bollards and low profile posts: every 3–5 metres along footpaths.
- Post-top luminaires: on 3–4 metre poles for garden and estate paths.
- Outdoor wall lights: beside doors and at entrances, 1.8–2 metres above the ground.
- Colour temperature: 3000K warm white makes plants and stone look natural.
Lamptime luminaires are made to order with the colour temperature, housing colour and optic you choose and ship within 1–3 business days. For projects and bulk orders, write to us for help choosing luminaires and calculating quantities.
3–4 metres is common for footpaths and gardens, 4–6 metres for estate roads. The spacing between poles is usually 4–5 times the pole height.
Yes. The products are IP65–IP66 rated; use suitable underground cable and waterproof junction boxes for the connections.
2700K–3000K warm white is recommended for homes, hotels and restaurants; 4000K neutral white for offices, shops, kitchens and bathrooms; 5000K and above cool white for warehouses, workshops and technical areas. Using the same colour temperature throughout a room gives a consistent look.
