Track Spotlights
How to choose track spotlights
A track spotlight attaches to a ceiling-mounted track and slides along it. The head rotates and tilts to aim the light at products, shelves or artwork, giving flexible accent lighting in shops, showrooms, galleries, restaurants and modern homes.
- Wattage: 20–30 W for ceilings up to 3 metres, 30–40 W for higher ceilings.
- Beam angle: narrow (15°–24°) for single products and windows, medium (30°–45°) for shelves, wide (60°) for general lighting.
- Track type: single-phase track for small spaces, three-phase track for large shops controlled on three separate circuits.
Lamptime luminaires are made to order with the colour temperature, housing colour and optic you choose and ship within 1–3 business days. For projects and bulk orders, write to us for help choosing luminaires and calculating quantities.
Single-phase track is enough for small areas controlled by one switch. Three-phase track is preferred in large shops and showrooms where spotlights are controlled in three separate groups. The track and the spotlight adapter must be the same type.
For shelves and wall displays, spotlights are usually placed 1–1.5 metres apart and aimed at the products at 30°–45°. Narrow-beam spotlights are added for windows and display tables.
2700K–3000K warm white is recommended for homes, hotels and restaurants; 4000K neutral white for offices, shops, kitchens and bathrooms; 5000K and above cool white for warehouses, workshops and technical areas. Using the same colour temperature throughout a room gives a consistent look.
