Which EV Charger Should I Buy?
Short answer: check your car's AC charging power and your building's electrical supply. Single-phase supply allows up to 7.4 kW, three-phase 11 or 22 kW. Most cars take 11 kW; a 22 kW charger also charges today's car and saves you from buying another charger if you switch to a more powerful car later. Answer the questions below and we will suggest the right charger.
How to choose the charging power
At home or at work you charge with AC, and the speed is limited by the car's on-board charger. A car that takes 11 kW draws 11 kW even from a 22 kW charger, so the charger should not be weaker than the car's AC power; a stronger one does no harm.
Some cars charge on a single phase only (e.g. 7.4 kW). They use one phase of a three-phase charger and need 32 A on that phase for 7.4 kW: a 22 kW (32 A) charger delivers it, an 11 kW (16 A) charger stays at 3.7 kW.
Single-phase or three-phase?
Most flats and older buildings have single-phase supply (230 V), allowing up to 7.4 kW. Detached houses, villas, new buildings and workplaces usually have three-phase (400 V), allowing 11 or 22 kW. If the main breaker in your meter box has three poles, your supply is three-phase.
Tethered or socket?
A tethered charger has a Type 2 cable attached: park and plug in, the most practical option. A socket charger has a Type 2 outlet and you use your own cable; it suits places where different cars charge and a cleaner look is wanted.
Shared use at residential sites and workplaces
When several people use one charger, consumption must be measured and billed per user. A MID-certified meter measures each user's electricity legally; a charger with a SIM card (GSM) can be managed remotely even without Wi-Fi in the car park, and users start charging with a card or app. That is why we only recommend chargers with a SIM card and MID meter for shared use.

If your car takes 11 kW AC, an 11 kW charger is enough. A 22 kW charger also charges today's car and saves you from buying a second charger if you switch to a car with 22 kW support; it is a future-proof choice if your supply (three-phase, enough capacity) allows it.
No. The car draws only as much current as its on-board charger allows; a 22 kW charger gives 11 kW to a car that takes 11 kW.
Single-phase supply allows up to 7.4 kW. As our home wallboxes are three-phase, for single-phase supply we recommend a portable charger plugged into a 32 A socket. For faster charging you can ask the grid operator for a three-phase connection.
A MID-certified meter to measure each user's consumption and a charger with a SIM card (GSM) for remote management. Before installation you need the building management's decision, an electrical project and the grid operator's approval.
