LED Strips & Profiles
How to choose LED strip
LED strip creates continuous lines of light in coves, under cabinets, on shelves, stairs and furniture. An aluminium LED profile dissipates the strip's heat and extends its life, while the diffuser makes the light soft and dot-free.
- 24 V or 12 V: 24 V is preferred for long runs, with less voltage drop at the end.
- LED density: 60 LED/m for decorative use, 120 LED/m for a dot-free line, 168 LED/m for high light output.
- Driver: about 20% larger than the total LED wattage; use IP67 drivers in damp areas.
- LED strip is sold on 5-metre reels.
Lamptime luminaires are made to order with the colour temperature, housing colour and optic you choose and ship within 1–3 business days. For projects and bulk orders, write to us for help choosing luminaires and calculating quantities.
Multiply the wattage per metre by the total length and choose a driver about 20% larger. For example, 10 metres of 14 W/m strip needs 140 W, so a 160 W driver is suitable.
It can, but an aluminium profile dissipates heat and extends the LEDs' life, and the diffuser hides the LED dots. We recommend a profile and diffuser wherever the strip is visible.
No, it is sold on 5-metre reels. For 10 metres add 2 reels to the basket, for 15 metres 3 reels.
