LED Panels
How to choose an LED panel
An LED panel is a slim ceiling luminaire for general lighting in offices, schools, hospitals, shops and homes. In backlit models the LEDs sit behind the panel, so light spreads evenly over the whole surface without yellowing over the years.
- Size: 60x60 fits mineral fibre ceiling tiles; 30x120 and 30x60 fit long tiles.
- Mounting: recessed, clip-in ceiling or surface-mounted (with frame).
- IP65 (cleanroom) panel: for hospitals, laboratories, kitchens and damp areas.
- Diffuser: PS is standard; PMMA offers higher light transmission and colour stability (option at extra cost).
- Round and square downlight panels: recessed or surface-mounted general lighting for homes, corridors and bathrooms.
Lamptime luminaires are made to order with the colour temperature, housing colour and optic you choose and ship within 1–3 business days. For projects and bulk orders, write to us for help choosing luminaires and calculating quantities.
36–42 W is a common choice for 60x60 panels in offices and schools. Choose a lower or higher wattage depending on ceiling height and the required light level.
In a backlit panel the LEDs are at the back, so the light is even and efficient. In an edge-lit panel the LEDs are at the edges; it is thinner, but yellowing and light loss can occur over time.
A PMMA (acrylic) diffuser has higher light transmission and does not yellow for many years; PS is the standard, economical option. The PMMA option is selected on the product page at a price difference.
