V2L & C2L Adapters
What are V2L and C2L, and which do you need?
V2L (Vehicle to Load) lets a V2L-capable electric car supply power from its battery to external devices. A V2L adapter plugs into the car's Type 2 port and turns it into a standard socket, so you can run appliances from your car when camping, in the garden, on site or during a power cut.
C2L (Charger to Load) takes power from a socketed AC charging station instead of the car, so it doesn't depend on the car brand. The C2C (Charger to Caravan) adapter powers your caravan from a charging station.
- Car compatibility: manufacturers use different signal values for V2L, so the adapter is chosen by car brand (Hyundai/Kia/SsangYong, MG, BYD/Skywell). Check your owner's manual that your car supports V2L.
- Power: the adapters supply up to 16 A; the car's V2L limit also applies (typically 2.2–3.6 kW depending on the model).
- Single outlet or cable: a single-outlet adapter for devices next to the car; a 3 m cable with 2 or 3 sockets for devices further away or several at once.
V2L (Vehicle to Load) means an electric car supplies power from its battery to a standard socket through a V2L adapter, so you can run electrical devices directly from the car.
V2L takes power from the car's battery and only works on V2L-capable cars. C2L takes power from a socketed AC charging station and doesn't involve the car.
The V2L adapters we list have no dedicated Togg version. Because brand compatibility matters, please ask us before buying for a Togg.
