Home EV charger installation cost 2026: prices and cost factors

Short answer: the total cost of a home EV charger is the price of the charger plus the installation (materials and labour). In Bursa, our average price for installing a three-phase home charger (wallbox) depends on the cable length from the distribution board: about TRY 15,000 for up to 10 m, about TRY 25,000 for up to 25 m and about TRY 40,000 for up to 50 m (excl. VAT and the charger).

The same charger can cost very different amounts to install in two homes. Below we explain what drives the cost, give example scenarios and show how to keep it down.

What determines the installation cost?

  • Cable length: the biggest factor. The longer the run from the board to the charger, the more cable and labour; long runs may need a thicker cable to limit voltage drop.
  • Charging power and cable size: a 22 kW (32 A) installation needs thicker cable and larger protection than 11 kW (16 A). If your car accepts 11 kW AC, an 11 kW installation costs less.
  • Cable route: surface trunking is cheapest. Running cable inside walls, underground in conduit, or cutting concrete adds cost.
  • Board and protection: the charger needs its own breaker and residual current protection. If the board is full, an extra enclosure or rework is needed. Without built-in DC fault detection, a more expensive Type B RCD is required.
  • Electricity contract: if your contracted power is too low, a power increase is requested from the distribution company (UEDAŞ in Bursa); this fee is not part of the installation price.
  • Mounting: wall mounting is standard. Where there is no wall, the charger goes on a pedestal; the pedestal and groundworks are extra.

Average installation prices (Bursa, 2026)

  • Cable length up to 10 m: about TRY 15,000 + VAT
  • Cable length up to 25 m: about TRY 25,000 + VAT
  • Cable length up to 50 m: about TRY 40,000 + VAT

These are averages for a three-phase wallbox and do not include the charger. The exact price is given in writing after a free site survey, once the route, cable size, board and protection needs have been seen. Distances over 50 m and residential or business projects are priced individually.

Example scenarios

  • Detached house, board in the garage, charger 8 m away: the up-to-10 m category, about TRY 15,000 + VAT.
  • Apartment, car in an underground car park about 20 m from the flat's board: the up-to-25 m category, about TRY 25,000 + VAT; the building management's approval is needed to cross shared areas.
  • Villa, board inside the house, charger at the garden gate with 40 m of underground cable: the up-to-50 m category, about TRY 40,000 + VAT; digging and reinstatement are assessed during the survey.

Homes with single-phase power

With single-phase power the maximum charging power is 7.4 kW. You can either switch to three-phase and install a wallbox, or have a blue 32 A industrial socket in a fused combination box installed and use a single-phase portable charger such as the Mono Mobile. The second option is often cheaper, but charging takes longer.

How to reduce the installation cost

  • Place the charger as close to the board as possible – every metre counts.
  • Don't choose more power than you need: if your car accepts 11 kW, an 11 kW installation means thinner cable and cheaper protection. Bemis Charger Plus 2 and Pro 2 power can be changed in the app, so upgrading later is easy.
  • A charger with built-in DC fault detection can avoid the need for an expensive Type B RCD.
  • In shared car parks, plan a group installation with load-balancing chargers rather than one by one, so infrastructure is shared and cost per user falls.
  • For short distances and small budgets, a portable charger with a fused combination socket is also an option.

How installation works

We start with a free site survey in Bursa: the board, contract and cable route are checked and the charger position agreed. You then receive a written quote; once accepted, we install, set the charger up for your installation and test it with your car. Chargers we install carry a 5-year workmanship warranty.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to install an EV charger at home?

The total is the charger price plus installation. In Bursa, installing a three-phase wallbox costs about TRY 15,000 for up to 10 m of cable, about TRY 25,000 for up to 25 m and about TRY 40,000 for up to 50 m (excl. VAT and the charger).

Is the charger included in the installation price?

No. The installation price covers cable, protection and labour; the charger is bought separately.

Who pays if a power increase is needed?

A contracted power increase is an application to the distribution company (UEDAŞ in Bursa) and is not included in the installation price. During the survey we check whether it's needed and look at alternatives such as a lower power setting.

How can I get an exact price?

We offer a free site survey in Bursa. You get a written quote afterwards; if you don't accept it, you pay nothing.
