Our store on Google: 5.0 ★ · 13 reviewsA three-phase miniature circuit breaker (3-pole) protects all three phases and disconnects them together in the event of a fault. The Legrand XS4 3-pole breaker comes in nine ratings from 6 A to 63 A with curve B or C, works on 400 V networks and takes up 3 modules in the panel. It is used as the main breaker after a three-phase meter and on three-phase motors, compressors, EV charger circuits and commercial panels.
Legrand XS4 is a new generation of miniature circuit breakers made at Legrand's Gebze factory in Türkiye. It has a breaking capacity of 4,500 A (4.5 kA) to EN/IEC 60898-1, energy limiting class 3 and an electrical life of 10,000 operations, and works from −25 °C to +70 °C. On ratings above 25 A the terminals take cables up to 35 mm² and can be tightened with flat or Phillips screwdrivers. The red/green marking on the toggle always shows whether the contacts are open or closed, and the two-position DIN rail clip makes fitting and removal easy. The breaker can be supplied by busbar from the top or bottom and accepts Legrand auxiliaries such as auxiliary contacts, fault signal contacts and shunt trips. TSE certified.
The difference between curves B and C is how quickly the breaker trips on a sudden high current. Curve B trips instantly at about 3–5 times the rated current and suits lighting, sockets and long residential circuits. Curve C trips at 5–10 times and prevents nuisance tripping on motors, compressors, air conditioners and other loads with high inrush current. Curve C is common in Turkish homes; the right choice depends on the installation design.
The rating of a breaker is chosen according to the cross-section of the cable it protects: if the breaker is larger than the cable can carry, the cable overheats. Our guide explains cable sizes and breaker selection in detail; if in doubt, ask the electrician who installs the system.

Frequently asked questions
With a three-phase supply, a 3-pole breaker is used as the main breaker after the meter and on circuits for three-phase equipment (motors, compressors, 11 or 22 kW EV chargers, large heaters). A fault on one phase disconnects all three, so three-phase equipment never keeps running on one phase.
Curve B for lighting and socket circuits and long cable runs; curve C for motors, compressors, air conditioners, pumps and other loads with high inrush current. When replacing an existing breaker, check the letter printed on it (B16, C16, etc.) and choose the same.
For most homes and small businesses, 4.5 kA is sufficient. Buildings close to a transformer or industrial panels with high short-circuit current may need higher breaking capacities (6 kA, 10 kA); this is specified in the installation design.
The most common causes are overload (too many appliances on one circuit), a short circuit in an appliance, or a curve B breaker on a load with high inrush current. Fitting a larger breaker is not the solution – the cable can overheat. If you cannot find the cause, have the installation checked by an electrician.
