How do I set an analogue time switch?

First turn the dial to the current time. Then push out (or in) the segments for the period you want the circuit on – each segment is 15 minutes. Finally set the front switch to automatic.

Are the settings lost in a power cut?

No. The program is set mechanically with the segments, and the rechargeable battery keeps the clock running for 100 hours.

How many lamps can I connect?

The contact switches 16 A at 250 V. The type of load and its inrush current matter: for many LED fittings or high-power loads, the time switch should drive a contactor. If in doubt, ask your electrician.

Does it adjust to summer and winter time automatically?

No, on this analogue model the time change is manual. For a model that calculates sunrise and sunset itself, choose an astronomical time switch.

A time switch turns the connected circuit on and off automatically at the times you set during the day. The Legrand 4 127 90 is a 1-module (17.5 mm) analogue time switch for DIN rails: you set the daily 24-hour program in 15-minute steps by pushing the segments on the vertical dial. The shortest switching time is 15 minutes.

During a power cut its rechargeable battery keeps time for 100 hours, and the program continues when the power returns. It is quartz-controlled with an accuracy of 2.5 seconds per day. A three-position switch on the front sets the circuit to permanently on, automatic or permanently off. Summer/winter time is changed manually.

The contact is 1 N/O and potential-free, switching 16 A at 250 V; supply is 230 V, 50/60 Hz. Dimensions are 17.5 × 83 × 60 mm, protection IP20, terminals 1.5–4 mm², operating temperature −10 °C to +55 °C. For high-power loads or many LED fittings, the time switch should drive a contactor.

Typical uses: garden and façade lighting, shop window and sign lights, circulation pumps, ventilation and heaters. If you need a switch that adjusts to sunset automatically, an astronomical time switch is more suitable.
