Public EV charging prices in Turkey 2026: AC and DC per kWh, compared with home charging

Short answer: Public charging in Turkey is billed per kWh. As of September 30, 2026, average prices are about TRY 10.50 per kWh for AC (slow) charging and about TRY 15.00 per kWh for DC (fast) charging, VAT included; very high-power (HPC) stations cost more. Home electricity costs about TRY 3.24 per kWh, so the same distance is several times cheaper when charging at home. The exact price depends on the operator, station power and membership; check the tariff in the operator's app before charging.

What determines the price?

  • Charging type: AC is cheapest, DC fast charging costs more, and 150 kW+ (HPC) stations cost the most.
  • Operator: ZES, Eşarj, Trugo, Voltrun and other operators have different tariffs, updated from time to time.
  • Membership: some operators lower the kWh price with a subscription or package; guest and roaming use can cost more.
  • Idle fee: if the car stays at the station after charging ends, a per-minute fee may apply.

How to calculate cost per 100 km

Cost per 100 km = the car's consumption per 100 km (kWh) × price per kWh.

Most electric cars use 15–20 kWh/100 km. For a car using 18 kWh/100 km, 100 km costs 18 × TRY 3.24 at home, 18 × TRY 10.50 on public AC and 18 × TRY 15.00 on DC. Add 5–10% for charging losses. Use our charging cost calculator to work it out for your own car with current prices.

Why is home charging cheaper?

At home you pay the residential tariff, with no station operating costs or operator margin. Homes on a time-of-use tariff can pay even less at night. A home charger and its installation are a one-off investment that frequent drivers recover quickly.

When to use DC fast charging

On long trips and when you are in a hurry, DC fast charging saves time. For daily use, AC charging at home or at work is cheaper and gentler on the battery. As DC charging slows down after 80%, charging between 10% and 80% on the road is the most efficient.

How to keep track of prices

Operators' apps show the current price per station. The averages on this page match our calculator prices and are updated as prices change.
