What is the difference between IR and RF sensors?

An IR (infrared) sensor detects changes in body heat and works within its field of view. An RF (microwave) sensor detects movement with reflected radio waves; it works behind the diffuser and is more sensitive. RF is common in stairwells and corridors, IR in small rooms.

Which colour temperature should I choose?

2700K or 3000K warm white is recommended for living areas, bedrooms, hotels and restaurants; 4000K neutral white for offices, shops, kitchens and bathrooms; 5000K and above cool white for warehouses, workshops and technical areas. Using the same colour temperature for all luminaires in a room gives a consistent look.

What is an emergency kit?

A battery and charging circuit added to the luminaire. When the mains fails, the luminaire keeps working on battery, providing the emergency lighting required by regulations on escape routes, stairs and in common areas.

What is the difference between the EU driver and the standard driver?

Both are protected constant-current drivers compatible with the luminaire. The EU option uses a European-made driver – preferred for projects whose specifications require one.

The Lamptime ES13 is an LED luminaire with a sensor that switches on automatically when it detects movement and off again after a set time. In stairwells, corridors, basements, car parks, storerooms and toilets it prevents unnecessary burning and saves a lot of energy.

The RF (microwave) sensor detects movement even through the luminaire cover and thin partitions, giving wider and more sensitive detection.

The housing is polycarbonate. The light source is an SMD LED rated for at least 100,000 hours, with a colour rendering index (CRI) above 80 for natural-looking colours. The glare rating is UGR 20. The constant-current driver is protected against overload, overvoltage, short circuit and overheating; the luminaire runs on 220–240 V AC with a power factor of PF>0.60. Protection rating IP65, electrical safety Class II; operating temperature -20 °C to +50 °C.

Choose a colour temperature between 2700K–6500K: warm white (2700–3000K) gives a cosy light in homes, hotels and restaurants; neutral white (4000K) suits workspaces such as offices, shops and kitchens; cool white (5000–6500K) is preferred for technical areas and warehouses. The housing is available in white and black. On request it is supplied with a European-made (EU) driver instead of the standard driver. With an emergency kit, the luminaire keeps working on its battery during a power cut – suitable for escape routes and common areas.
