The Lamptime DC12 is a recessed downlight installed flush in suspended ceilings. Its COB LED light source delivers strong, crisp light from a single point, and the aluminium reflector focuses it at the desired angle. It is used in homes, shops, hotels and offices both for general lighting and for highlighting shelves, artwork and displays.
A 100 × 100 mm, 100 × 190 mm, 100 × 280 mm, 120 × 120 mm, 120 × 235 mm, 120 × 360 mm, 155 × 155 mm, 155 × 305 mm, 155 × 455 mm, 170 × 170 mm, 170 × 330 mm and 170 × 520 mm cut-out is made in the ceiling and the downlight is fixed with spring clips. Available in 124x124, 122x231, 124x297, 140x140, 140x259, 115x350, 175x175, 175x322, 175x472, 190x190, 186x360 and 186x537 housings. The deep, anti-glare housing keeps the light source out of direct view.
The housing is powder-coated die-cast aluminium. The light source is a COB LED rated for at least 100,000 hours, with a colour rendering index (CRI) above 80 for natural-looking colours. The glare rating is UGR 11. The constant-current driver is protected against overload, overvoltage, short circuit and overheating; the luminaire runs on 220–240 V AC with a power factor of PF>0.60 (P≤25W) / PF>0.95 (P≥25W). Protection rating IP20, electrical safety Class II; operating temperature -20 °C to +50 °C.
Choose a colour temperature between 2700K–6500K: warm white (2700–3000K) gives a cosy light in homes, hotels and restaurants; neutral white (4000K) suits workspaces such as offices, shops and kitchens; cool white (5000–6500K) is preferred for technical areas and warehouses. The housing is available in white and black. Optics: 15°, 30°, 45° and 60°; narrow beams are for accents and displays, wide beams for general lighting. With the DALI option, the luminaire connects to building automation and can be dimmed. On request it is supplied with a European-made (EU) driver instead of the standard driver. With an emergency kit, the luminaire keeps working on its battery during a power cut – suitable for escape routes and common areas.

Frequently asked questions
The cut-out size for the DC12 is 100 × 100 mm, 100 × 190 mm, 100 × 280 mm, 120 × 120 mm, 120 × 235 mm, 120 × 360 mm, 155 × 155 mm, 155 × 305 mm, 155 × 455 mm, 170 × 170 mm, 170 × 330 mm and 170 × 520 mm. There must be at least the height of the luminaire free above the suspended ceiling; the dimensions are in the technical table.
A narrow beam (15°–24°) concentrates light on a small area and suits artwork, shelves and window displays. A medium beam (30°–45°) does both accent and general lighting. A wide beam (60° and above) is for general room lighting. The higher the ceiling, the narrower the beam needed to bring the light to the floor.
For general lighting, a spacing of about 1–1.5 metres between downlights is common; the number depends on the room size, ceiling height and required light level. Send us your dimensions and we will prepare a layout proposal.
2700K or 3000K warm white is recommended for living areas, bedrooms, hotels and restaurants; 4000K neutral white for offices, shops, kitchens and bathrooms; 5000K and above cool white for warehouses, workshops and technical areas. Using the same colour temperature for all luminaires in a room gives a consistent look.
DALI is a protocol for digital lighting control. A luminaire with a DALI driver can be dimmed and connected to an automation system with scenes and time programmes. A standard (ON/OFF) luminaire is simply switched on and off.
A battery and charging circuit added to the luminaire. When the mains fails, the luminaire keeps working on battery, providing the emergency lighting required by regulations on escape routes, stairs and in common areas.
Both are protected constant-current drivers compatible with the luminaire. The EU option uses a European-made driver – preferred for projects whose specifications require one.
Lamptime luminaires are made to order with the colour temperature, housing colour and optic you choose and ship within 1–3 business days. For bulk orders we confirm the lead time before you order.
